Untitled

The earth stood still and the sun went round,  With the blistering moon and the stars all around.  I stood and watched as the smoke surrounds,  I choked to death with people all around.  I woke up.  I sat, silently in the hall  And I tried to recall.  The dream,  What could it possibly mean?  The infinite darkness in the sunlight beam.  Is it destruction’s grand scheme?

blah! blah!!

There is a darkness in me, I do not know how it’s shaping me.. Or is it I, turning into me? To find the things choking me, I went to the desert across the sea, To find nothing but a lonely hill. I crept forward and climbed the hill. I saw; struggling worm, in a bird’s bill, I smiled; ‘It’s me who’s withholding me.’ ================================================ I’m gentrified, Oh! I didn't lie. I say this not to defy, But to say good-bye. I tried hard to play my part, But couldn't keep your thoughts apart. So, the hardest part was letting go, not taking part. I knew I had to tell, To break this spell. But you couldn't tell, What made me fall, And why you look so tall… =======================================================================

Death of a star!

I watched the folks in a jewellery store, gaping at the gold led before. They smiled and awed at the shining gold, and wondered why. Unaware, ignorant of the fact that it once shone brightly in the sky. In order for us to live, A star must die! The sun, the moon, the planets and asteroids, including    the earth where we reside. Once shone brightly in the sky. In order for us to live, A star must die! The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the life we love, and the death we fear, it’s possible because  it  died. The things we love each other for to the gold we kill each other for, once brightly shone in the sky. In order for us to live, a star must die! A star that lived before us, brightly shone in the sky. It still shines brightly, as us, now that it has died. In order for us to live, a star must die! A star must die!       ...

Life!

I looked at yonder and I wondered, O! What is life? Children playing in parks, Cattles grazing grass, Birds chirping as they fly pass, Fishes swimming in a tank; made of glass, Bewitching yet angelic is life! In deserts, in our beds, In the hostile dark ocean bed, Everywhere is life! Some gigantic, some miniscule, Some bizarre, some beautiful, Astounding is this life! Millions have wondered, millions have tried, But couldn't find what is 'life'. We searched the guts of living bodies, We ripped atoms apart, Yet we do not know what is 'life'! I look at yonder, as I wonder, O! What is life? ... We fear death, we love life, We've all wondered and appreciated it, But yet we do no value life, We waste it as shit! We kill for land, for love, We kill for power, for gold, These tormenting stories are centuries old! We kill for 'what we do not own',  ** We even kill for life; our own, We kill and kill in illogical, ruthless wars, We ...

Independence Day

Every year the same day We celebrate and pray On our independence day Dishes and cakes, we bake Vows and promises, we make All to make fruitful Our hard earned, independence day! Once again comes the auspicious day We prepare for all we do, all we may But let's not do all the same This time, let's play a different game The wars of lands & countries are long gone And what's been done cannot be undone So let's forget about countries now And think about our 'planet' this time! PS - though written on the occasion of India's independence day, it isn't just for "Indians"

Why do we fall?

In life In dreams In the darkness Watching a distant lantern's gleam Why do we fall? Because of 'heart' From a hilltop Or a crashing plane from a dream With a blaring scream Why do we fall? Like everyone else Once I fell And hence I asked Why do we fall? And I begged, Mochiagete! Mochiagete!! PS - "Mochiagete, tokihanashite!", line from a Linkin Park song 'Jornada del muerto' it means, "lift me up, let me go!" Heart is in qoutes cos it's the wrong organ to blame!
